Just a little over a week now and we will be at the second ever Better Than Ever FCC Marriage Retreat! I can’t wait to be away from my two crazy kids for a couple of nights…I mean draw closer to my spouse. That’s what I meant!

 

     This week, let’s take some time to be in prayer for our upcoming event. There are a lot of couples going on this trip. Pray for them. Pray that God work in their relationship leading up to the event. Pray that they draw closer together at this event. Pray that the marriages of our church family and friends are stronger than ever because of what God does in and through us. Pray for the others on this trip.

 

     Let’s also take some time to pray for ourselves. Pray that God open up your heart. Pray that God give you eyes to see your spouse the way He does. Pray that love is built stronger than ever and that a new level of closeness develops. Pray for open ears and an open mind to receive what God is doing with a positive spirit. Pray for you and your spouse.

 

     Finally, perhaps for those of us  who are a little apprehensive about this trip, I leave us with this passage from Philippians 4:6-7, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
